Westcotec’s Senior Technician, Tim James, has recently been awarded the prestigious RoSPA Diploma in Advanced Motorcycling Instruction.
A keen motorcyclist, Tim had already achieved three RoSPA Gold passes but wished to challenge himself with the Diploma.
“This was something I had wanted to do for quite a while,” he said, “but the price of the course was simply out of my reach, particularly with a young family to look after.”
Phil Hayton, MD of Westcotec was happy to step in to help. “Westcotec were very pleased to give Tim the opportunity to fulfil his ambition, and we are overjoyed that his hard work for the course paid off so well. His results were very impressive, and he should be proud of his achievement. Westcotec is heavily committed to road safety and reduction of road casualties. Tim’s achievement firmly fits in with the company’s ethos”
To take part on the course, Tim had to travel from Norfolk to Taunton, Somerset to take part in the 5-day course. “It was intensive, and quite hard work, as there was also a lot of revision and preparations to do in the evenings. I’m very grateful to Phil for giving me the opportunity, and everyone else at Westcotec for all the support.”
In his Role as Senior Technician, Tim is the designer for Westcotec’s motorcycle detection systems amongst other intelligent traffic safety systems
