Westcotec, the leading UK-based manufacturer of intelligent traffic safety systems, is measuring the full carbon footprint of its product range over a 15-year lifespan, with the aim of helping customers gain a better understanding of the environmental impact of their purchasing decisions.
The environmental study is underway, with findings to date available to download from the company’s website. Verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) will follow later in the fourth quarter of 2026. By sharing its findings, Westcotec aims to give customers a clearer picture of the carbon footprint associated with its products, placing environmental information alongside other considerations when choosing equipment.
Olly Samways, Westcotec’s director of sales, said: “Understanding environmental impact starts with measuring it. We want to give our customers clear, accessible information about the carbon footprint of our products over a 15-year lifespan, helping them make better-informed choices. The results are designed to help us improve on the carbon footprint of our product range, for example through our commitment to sourcing more sustainable components. This study is an important step towards that goal. Sharing our findings now, ahead of the verified Environmental Product Declarations, allows customers to explore the work as it progresses.”
Customers and other interested organisations can visit Westcotec’s environmental study webpage to explore the findings published so far.
Visitors can also complete an online form for a chance to win tree planting for their organisation, connecting the study with an opportunity to support planting through the company’s website.
